Karl Jancart is a pre-doctoral psychology intern at CBI. He completed his Master’s of Education degree (MSEd) in child psychology in 2019 and is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in school psychology (Ph.D.) at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. While completing his graduate work at Duquesne, he gained experience in the hospital setting, where he administered developmental assessments to inpatient infants in the CICU and as follow-up for outpatient infants and toddlers who had previously experienced NICU and CICU hospital stays. He also provided behavioral consultation services to teachers at two Pittsburgh preschools. Within the K-12 school setting, he has administered assessments and interventions, provided consultation, and created comprehensive educational plans to promote student success. Karl assists in conducting research related to the interaction between cognition and movement in young children, including infants born prematurely and infants with motor delays. He is presently completing his dissertation, which maintains an emphasis on the importance of interdisciplinary care while working with young children and their families. He Is passionate about individualized care that is informed by evidence-based practice and he appreciates each individual’s unique developmental path.
