As a therapist, I believe that personal growth is possible throughout the lifespan. Anyone who is willing to push themselves past the brink of comfortability can achieve positive transformation. My comprehensive therapy style works to empower individuals to make these lifestyle changes by using client centered, solution-focused, and strength-based techniques. I am certified in cognitive behavioral therapy and enjoy working with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety-based disorders, as well as a myriad of other emotional and adjustment issues. With couples, I utilize the Gottman Method Marriage Counseling to improve the foundation of their relationship. I employ evidence-based methods to support clients who are struggling with difficult life transitions, stress management, anxiety, depression, anger, chronic illness, and relationship concerns. I strive to create a supportive, empathetic and non-judgmental environment that inspires clients to engage in the therapeutic process towards change. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Pittsburgh in Johnstown. From there, I continued my education at Chatham University located in Pittsburgh, PA where I received my master’s degree in Community and School Counseling. I became licensed as a professional counselor in the state of PA while working in various roles in the community. I have worked with adolescent women in a residential placement facility who were struggling with interpersonal, psychosocial, behavioral and mental health needs. I have experience in mental health crisis situations which I’ve obtained while working as a mobile crisis clinician in Allegheny County for two years. In this role I became familiar with suicide assessment and prevention techniques. I have also worked with individuals who struggle with comorbid physical and mental health needs. While utilizing the stages of change, I have motivated individuals to ready themselves for transformation and take the next steps necessary to evolve. I am passionate about the holistic approach to overall wellness through integrating physical and mental wellbeing to achieve the best version of ourselves. I derive happiness from helping others achieve their goals, spending time with my husband and three young children and staying active through various physical and outdoor endeavors. I see myself as a positive, energetic being who genuinely cares for my clients and want to help them succeed with their goals and ambitions.
