Jordyn Cavalier is a pre-doctoral psychology intern at CBI. She completed her undergraduate degree at Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2018 and then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Child Psychology at Duquesne University in 2020. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in school psychology (PsyD) at Duquesne. Prior to entering graduate school, she has experience working as a bachelor's level therapist/caseworker under supervision of a masters level therapist at a partial hospitalization placement where she provided counseling to clients (ages 11-18) either individually or in group sessions, utilizing various therapeutic methods and techniques. Additionally, she has experience with developing and implementing treatment and safety plans. Jordyn has experience working within the school setting conducting student evaluations, administering assessments and interventions, providing consultation, and providing counseling to students. She believes it is essential to create a safe and supportive environment for the client to develop a positive therapeutic relationship. Jordyn also believes in utilizing a flexible/collaborative approach based on individual client needs. Once she earns her doctorate degree, she eventually wants to specialize in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma.
