CENTER FOR EDUCATION

Pre-Licensure

The time between graduate school and professional licensure is crucial. The therapist has completed their education, training, and supervised experience and they are entering the clinical field as a Master’s-level professional. A primary goal of the pre-licensed therapist is to obtain the requisite supervised clinical experience toward licensure and the confidence to function as a licensed professional. Upon licensure, the therapist is given the board’s stamp of approval and is thus expected to adhere to their professional codes of ethics and legal requirements, make moment to moment decisions regarding client welfare, and be an ambassador for the most up to date, research supported treatment available.

This is where Cognitive  Behavior Institute comes in. We seek to enrich the clinical lives of therapists across the USA by providing expert-level, small group supervision to supplement pre- licensed clinicians’ supervision requirements.

Our supervisors are licensed, vetted, and have made clinical supervision a career path. They come from a range of backgrounds and specialities and they engage the supervisory role with passion and education in models and methods of clinical supervision. CBI supervisors value the professional and personal goals of their supervisees which includes desired areas of growth, theoretical orientation, and self-awareness. We know that a strong supervisory relationship is at the heart of  effective supervision, so we take care to create a culture of feedback and provide supervision that is informed by an inclusive, multicultural framework which both respects and attends to the diversity built within the supervisory and clinical relationships.

Your CBI supervisor aims to support and empower you to become the clinician you aspire to be.
