As we all navigate a new normal of social distancing and home quarantine during the COVID-19 crisis, here is a compilation of free resources (for kids and adults!) to help fill your time in an engaged and productive manner. In this difficult time, where it may feel challenging to maintain a semblance of normal daily life, there are still numerous ways to keep spirits high with positive and meaningful connection, movement, learning, and taking care of the body and mind. Although not an exhaustive list, hopefully these resources can provide a starting point for creative ways to spend your time!

Movement – Stay Active!

Cosmic Kids Yoga – YouTube Channel that encourages kids to move while learning about mindfulness and relaxation.

One Peloton – Offers stationary bike, HIIT, running, and strength training classes. Free for 90 days!

Nike Run Club – App that offers run tracking, training plans, and guided runs.

CorePower Yoga – Offering free access to a selection of their online classes.

Fitness Blender – Offers hundreds of free workout videos ranging in difficulty and length.

Pop Sugar Workouts – Offering a plethora of workouts from yoga to dance to strength training to kickboxing.

Meditation

Headspace App – Headspace is offering some free meditation, sleep, and movement exercises during this time of crisis. They are free for everyone and part of a larger collection on the app called Weathering the Storm.

Calm app – Calm is offering some free content including mediations, sleep stories, calm music, calm body, and calm for kids exercises during this time of crisis. Click for access to the full assortment of offerings.

Social Connection

Zoom – A video and audio communication platform that offers a basic plan for free with unlimited meetings.

Google Hangouts – Google has made their platform free for up to 250 participants.

Skype – Another telecommunication app that specializes in video and audio calls. The original facetime!

Education/Learning Resources

Readworks – Reading comprehension classes for all ages.

Scholastic – Reference the Learn at Home website for free online resources and activities for children.

123 Homeschool4me – Education activities organized by subject and grade with printable worksheets.

Khan Academy – Free education resources and classes for students of all ages, parents, and teachers. During school closures, they will be hosting daily live streams.

Duolingo – Focus on language learning and language proficiency.

Coursera – Offers college courses from universities all over the world.
