Maria is currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania (Lock Haven), and is thrilled to begin her counseling practicum and internship at CBI. Drawing from her undergraduate studies in music, she believes strongly in the therapeutic potential of creative and expressive approaches. Moreover, Maria is interested to professionally expand upon an existential theoretical approach which promotes a heightened sense of self-awareness, and greater respect for one’s self through establishing meaning and purpose in one’s life. With this said, this approach can and will be altered to fit and respect each and every client’s needs. She believes that advocacy, honesty, integrity and compassion are key concepts in empowering her clients, and that every client has special and unique strengths to explore in session.

Maria is a proud new mother who loves music, video games and plant-based cooking. She is excited to continue her professional journey, and looks forward to graduating in August 2024.
