Nellie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) with over 20 years of clinical experience working with individuals for a variety of life issues that affect wellness and mental health including major life adjustments, anxiety, grief, and depression. She has worked with children, teens, and adults in several settings including schools, community agencies, college counseling centers, and private practices. Nellie primarily works from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lens while creating a safe and comfortable space to meet clients where they are based on their values, beliefs, and worldview. Nellie completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Education from the University of Pittsburgh and her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University. She is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Master’s of Professional Counselor Program (MPC) at Carlow University.
