Christy Barnhart earned her Master in Counseling from Geneva College in 2022 with a focus in clinical mental health counseling. She has experience working with adolescents, young adults, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and PTSD. Christy is an EMDR-trained therapist and also utilizes evidence-based treatments such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Her therapeutic interventions are tailored to the specific needs and preferences of clients. Christy has a master’s degree in music education and has taught adults and children of all ages for the past 30 years. She enjoys incorporating various aspects of expressive arts therapy into the therapeutic experience. Christy strives to cultivate a warm, inviting, and hope-filled atmosphere for each of her clients. She believes that creating an environment where each client feels safe to express their truth is one of the most important parts of any therapeutic space.
