Her other specialties include Anxiety disorders, Eating Disorders, Depression, LGBTQIA+ mental health, and Perinatal Mood Disorders. She approaches eating disorders using the Health at Every Size framework, which is a 'continuously evolving alternative to the weight-centered approach to treating clients and patients of all sizes. It is also a movement working to promote size-acceptance, and to end weight discrimination.' Before she became a nationally certified counselor, she was a disability rights and sexual assault advocate and this advocacy is built into her counseling framework. She has experience working with people from ages 5 to 55 years in age. Sam believes in well researched counseling methods that can be tailored to fit the unique needs of her clients.
